The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can work in a variety of computer systems and has impeccable organizational and customer service skills.

Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
Greets internal and external customers and inquires about customer needs, provides information, and directs customers to the appropriate resources.
Maintains, audits, and archives all Human Resources and Risk Management records including electronic records within the HR Information System and Risk Management databases.
Prepares regular, routine, ad-hoc, and sometimes complex reports for city managers, labor unions, and HR/Risk Management staff.
Processes and updates workers’ compensation and liability claims data in the risk management database.
Verifies insurance certificates related to city contracts and maintains a variety of liability insurance files.
Performs a variety professional administrative support functions as part of the HR and Risk Management team including processing background checks and other new-hire forms, assisting with training coordination and special events, and maintaining personnel data.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade and five (5) years of varied administrative support experience preferably involving human resources programs and services, or two (2) years of experience equivalent to Sr. Administrative Specialist at the City of Tigard.
