Position Primary Purpose:
The Senior Director of Technology is responsible for leading and directing the Information Technology Department. This position will actively partner with the cross functional management team of NWCU in driving strategic and operational plans. It is expected that this position will demonstrate a forward-looking thinking role and the ability to drive the Credit Union’s strategic, technology and operational initiatives.

Essential Functions

*Establishes objectives, goals, performance requirements, clarifies responsibilities of those supervised, and conducts performance coaching and development plans for individual employee improvement.
*Manages staff and allocates development resources across many projects and initiatives.
*Develops and implements comprehensive technology strategies for mobile and web software applications and infrastructure to meet business needs. Communicates technology strategy across the Credit Union.
*Serves as a strategic partner who is familiar with market and organizational dynamics, and capable of turning ideas into reality directly and through influence.
*Partners and collaborates with the Executive Leadership Team and subject matter experts to identify and deliver technology solutions for key business objectives.
*Architects, defines, develops and assists in overseeing software engineering effort on full range of applications (mobile, web and business intelligence) based on business needs and requirements.
*Supports the analysis of system specifications and translates system requirements into task specifications.
*Provides oversight to software module designs and components to improve quality and reuse.
*Ensures the systems development life cycle (SDLC), process and practices are properly followed and make adjustment as needed to meet the changing needs of the Credit Union.

Position Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, technology, or related field required.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of related work experience, including 3 – 5 years of management experience and leading technology teams with progressively increasing responsibility. Experience and background on software/product development and project/life cycle management.
